Upvallhalla was built on the belief that a great property is about more than square footage—it’s about seeing its potential.

Emelia Wessel and Adam Upvall both grew up in Half Moon Bay, California, but their paths didn’t cross until years later during a chance meeting on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific. What began as a long-distance love story became a partnership in family, business, and a shared passion for transforming homes.

Today, they bring together a unique combination of real estate, construction, fine art, design, and hands-on renovation experience to help clients see not only what a property is, but what it can become.

Emelia Wessel | Real Estate + Design

Emelia earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland before founding an art school in the San Francisco Bay Area. There, she taught children and adults, curated artwork, and completed commissioned pieces for individuals and businesses.

Her career later evolved into professional hairstyling, where she spent more than a decade applying color theory, sculpting, proportion, and an eye for detail to her work. Those years strengthened a skill that has followed her throughout her career: the ability to see how color, texture, scale, and composition work together.

In 2017, that creative background found a new canvas when she and Adam began renovating and investing in homes together. Emelia became the design force behind their projects, creating spaces that balance character and warmth with functionality and lasting appeal.

Today, as a licensed Oregon Realtor, she brings that same perspective to her clients—particularly those buying or selling rural properties, acreage, investment homes, fixers, and properties with untapped potential.

Adam Upvall | Construction + Craftsmanship

Adam brings more than 20 years of construction experience to Upvallhalla. He began his career directly out of high school, apprenticing with skilled Bay Area craftsmen and building the exacting standards that still define his work today.

His career has included work on exclusive residential properties for high-profile private clients and executives, where craftsmanship, professionalism, discretion, and extraordinary attention to detail were expected.

As a licensed general contractor and highly skilled finish carpenter, Adam has experience across nearly every aspect of residential construction, but woodworking and interior finish carpentry remain where his craftsmanship truly shines. He believes in doing things correctly—not simply making them look good long enough to sell.

That philosophy is especially important in Upvallhalla's renovation work. Our homes aren't quick cosmetic flips. They are thoughtfully designed and carefully built homes that we're proud to put our name behind.

Since 2017, Emelia and Adam have combined their skills to renovate homes and evaluate properties from angles most buyers and sellers rarely have access to at the same time.

Emelia sees layout, design, marketability, and possibility. Adam sees construction quality, feasibility, craftsmanship, and potential problems. Together, they can look beyond finishes and square footage to understand the bigger picture of a property.

Their children have grown up alongside the work—from babies on job sites to curious helpers watching projects take shape. That family experience is part of why Upvallhalla approaches homes differently. These aren't simply structures or transactions. They're the places where people's lives happen.
